A Take Stock in Children scholar, Jovani Hernandez graduated from High School in 2014 in Highlands County with a 4.96 GPA and ranked number 2 in his class. While in school he also dual enrolled, was NHS President, Varsity Soccer Co-Captain, a member of Key Club, on the Cross Country Team, and was voted for the Homecoming Court. Jovani was a Bright Futures recipient and worked part time as a math tutor. He also volunteered with Relay for Life as a Team Captain and at the Children’s Museum. He now attends the University of Florida and plans to graduate in 2018. Jovani’s top goals for 2016-2017 are: to do very well in his classes, get involved in a new engineering design team, and get an internship for the summer of 2017. Most recently, he finished an internship at the Engineering Department in Highlands County. He plans to obtain a job in a forward-moving technological company that will provide him the opportunity to do meaningful work. Before then though, he will be studying abroad in Madrid for the 2016 fall semester.
