A Take Stock in Children scholar, Jacquelynn Shelton graduated from Gulf High School in 2014 with a 4.3 GPA, high school and IB diplomas, and an A.A. degree. She was a member of the National History Honor Society, National Math Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and Interact Club. Jacquelynn received Bright Futures and Ronald McDonald House Charities scholarships. She also volunteered with “Toys for Tots,” the Veterans Hospital in Bay Largo, AP/IB Boot Camp, and was the Youth Leadership President at her church. She now attends the University of South Florida and plans to graduate in the summer of 2017. Jacquelynn’s top goals for 2016-2017 are: getting more involved with medical and chemical research and keep up with consistent community service. Her most recent and most proud accomplishment was becoming a scientific research diver and doing work with Dr. Begin in the British Virgin Islands over the summer. She is keeping her future plans open, can’t wait to see what happens.
