A Take Stock in Children scholar, Benjamin Carpenter is from Brandon, Florida in Hillsborough County. He graduated from High School in 2013 with a 6.32 GPA, as Tampa Thunder Soccer Team Captain, and with many prestigious awards for his 501 (c) 3 organization “Ben’s Mends.” He went on to attend the University of Central Florida where he plans to graduate in 2017. His top goals for 2016-2017 are: achieving a successful Senior Design Project, obtaining an internship, and competing/winning as a member of the travel team for Team USA. He most recently placed second in the world with his team in the Thales Arduino Competition and 7th in the county with the Tampa Thunder. Benjamin will soon travel to Argentina as a member of the United States travel team to run a clinic for South American players in power wheelchair soccer. He later plans on entering the amusement park industry as an attractions designer or engineer.
