Next month, Take Stock will be assisting more than 1,800 high school seniors fill out college applications during National College Application Month. It’s an activity that has shown to have real results.
Three years ago, through a United States Department of Education Investing in Innovation Grant, Take Stock in Children infused its scholarship and mentoring model with college readiness programming to ensure that students would be prepared for postsecondary education, including the first and often hardest step of filling out a college application. This college bound mindset is working. According to Take Stock in Children's new report, the college enrollment rate for Take Stock scholars has climbed this year to 96%, compared to the Florida average of 56%.
