Meet the 2018 Leaders for Life Fellows

Adriana Amaris-min


  • Rice University  
  • Lee County

Adriana attended Fort Myers High School where had a 5.1 GPA and was ranked 20th of 456 students in her graduating class. She was an active member of Mu Alpha Theta - Math Honor Society, the Chamber Choir, Science National Honor Society, Health Occupations Students of America, Pay it Forward, Scholar’s Club, orchestra, Rho Kappa - History Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and served as co-president of the Fort Myers Science Association. She also tutored chemistry and volunteered at a local hospital. Adriana attends Rice University in Houston, Texas and majors in biology, pre-med, and eventually become a surgeon.

Asia Lavendar-min


  • Florida State University 
  • Lake County

Asia, with a 4.4 high school GPA, was dually-enrolled and ranked 64th of her 500 senior classmates at Lake Minneola High School. She was involved in Future Business Leaders of America, varsity weight lifting, and National Honor Society. She volunteered in her community in a church youth group and choir and with Kids R Kids. Asia worked as a crew member at Link Printing and Zaxby’s. She attends Florida State University and will major in business and eventually receive a Ph.D. of philosophy in business.

Michele attended Winter Springs High School where she had a 3.96 GPA and ranked 67th out of her 488 senior classmates. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and Greyhounds Give. She actively volunteered at Florida Hospital, The Sharing Center, and the Casselberry Library. Michele currently attends Florida International University and will major in nursing.

Shauna Norwood-min

Shauna attended Hardee High School and with a 4.2 GPA, and ranked 13th in her class of 284 students. Impressively, she graduated high school with her AA degree. She was involved in the National Honor Society, Key Club, Future Business Leaders of America, the softball team, Collegiate Program, Team Adrenaline, Building Class, and the Physical Science Club. In her spare time, she volunteered with Florida Hospital Wauchula, PowerLight Productions, and Paint the Town. Shauna attends the University of South Florida and will major in medical laboratory technology with the ultimate goal of becoming a cytotechnologist.

  • Brevard County

Amelia earned a 4.2 GPA at Titusville High School. Ranking 38th of her 280 senior classmates, she was dually-enrolled and graduated with her AA degree. In addition to working as a part-time court monitor at Sky Zone, she was busy at school as a member of Mu Alpha Theta - Math Honor Society, Latin Club, and National Honor Society. She also participated in her high school marching band, orchestra, chorus, and the chorus solo/ensemble, and ran on the cross-country team. Amelia volunteered with the IRC Summer Blast, Music Mentoring, and was a RunDisney Volunteer. She currently attends Florida Polytechnic University and studies mechanical and biomedical engineering to further her interest in prosthetics and sports.

Victoria Estevez-min


  • University of Florida 
  • Palm Beach County

Victoria was an International Baccalaureate student and dually-enrolled at Forest Hill High School. With a 4.2 GPA, she was ranked 38th of her 627 graduating classmates. An honor roll student, she served as president of her high school’s Health Occupations Club, a member of the National Honor Society, and president of Students Against Melanoma. Victoria was the varsity tennis team captain, and also played varsity volleyball and soccer. Outside of school, she worked part time at Old Navy and Rapids Water Park. She is also volunteered at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Eye & Ear, and Blessed Paw Rescue. Victoria attends the University of Florida to major in biomedical studies.
